Over the weekend

This weekend was a getaway for me. It was planned since summer when my parents got a wedding invitation. But this weekend away at my grandparents place on Sejerø, came just when I needed to get away and take a step back breathe.

When we arrived late Friday nigh, my grandparents garage was filled with people making a thing we in Denmark call "æresport" (translated to something like: port of honour) which is a green "door" made of pine and decorated with flowers. It is really hard to explain, so try and google it!

Saturday was busy for me, because  wasn't going to the wedding myself, but my parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles was, so I was the makeup artist for the day and did everyone's makeup.

When the makeup was done I went to my friend's house and got a little catch-up, before going to the church and see the bride and her (now) husband walk out the church. It is a tradition on Sejerø that every hunter or person with hunters license is shooting in the air when the new-wed-pair walk by them towards the car, to shoot away the evil from their marrige. And finally I could be a part of that.

Sunday was my dad's 50'iest birthday, and we had a huge brunch for him and I woke up at 7.30 to make a caramel-brownie for him- it tasted so so good.
We finally go back home Sunday, and it was late and everyone was hungry. My dad's birthday turned out to be a pizza party.

Here is some photos from my phone!

Until next time,
x Sofie
