In the summer we drink elderflower-drink here in Denmark and oh how I love it! But I think I've found my winter-drink! It is cold but makes you warm and helps fighting the bad bacteria in our throuts duting the winter - it is perfect for me, as I'm the kind of person always waking up with a sore throat, ew. I found this recipe, and it is too good not to share! You can either drink it as a shot or mix it with water and enjoy a whole glass of it.
You will need:
40g ginger
8 dl water
1 dl sugar
2 lemons
1 vanilla pod
How to:
Peel the ginger and chop it into smaller pieces.
Mix ginger, water, sugar and the juice from the lemons and the opened vanilla pod into a smaller pot.
Let the new juice simmer under the lid for about 20 minutes.
Taste in from time to another - when you think it taste as strong as you want it to, you remove the pieces of ginger and the vanilla pod.
Done! Keep it in the fridge - drink it before 3 days as the taste changes afterwards!
Enjoy!
Until next time,
x Sofie
